Impact
Single-use polystyrene is persistent, landfill-filling material that many Canadian municipalities are moving away from. Our mycelium alternative is plant-based and compostable, designed specifically for the insulation function in shipping kits.
How It Works
One Circular System
Two Product Lines
- Cultivation: Sterilized substrate (e.g., sawdust, agricultural by-products) inoculated and grown in shallow trays on rolling racks inside a climate-controlled container. Weekly harvests.
- Reuse the Substrate: After harvest, the mycelium-rich substrate is stabilized, dehydrated, and cut to spec as insulation panels for packaging.
- IP & Automation: Novel casting trays, integrated flow from farm to panel production, and operations software are part of our IP roadmap.
